With its new functionalities, Cyrtina®CAD30 offers the most advanced and efficient tools for full anatomical crowns, bridges and abutments modeling. Based on full anatomies, extensive indications are offered to create highly esthetic and functional restorations.
Creating a finish line is very easy, check out these video.
The CyrtinaCAD30 software is designed well and very user-friendly. Although an inexperienced person can handle the scanning, the greater the skill of the technician, the better the final product, especially for full contour restorations. Oratio has developed its software close to the way of thinking of the dental technician. (watch the video...)
This way he uses his competence through the software. The software is designed to make the dental technician better and enable him to improve his skills. Manipulating the software is like manipulating the wax; the better you are, the better the restoration.
Every prep is different. A good waxer can fudge and that same mentality is required when scanning. The use of CYRTINA will increase the productivity in the laboratory, because the technology will give a higher production and fast results. The Cyrtina®CAD30 software facilitates the CAD process because many operations are executed in the software background without interaction by the operator.
Productivity is at the core Cyrtina®CAD30. Thanks to a number of automated positioning and modeling features, it can take as little as 5 minutes from order creation to shipping to manufacturing. This enables a large lab to create more than 90 units per day. Creating customized abutments does not just increase productivity by eliminating the time spent on waxing and casting, but it also increases accuracy and esthetic results - increasing profitability and dentist satisfaction.
In the tutorial section are many videos available to learn how to use the software
Scanner
Cyrtina D700 Scanner
The Cyrtina D700 scanner represent the next generation of scanning and technology, and guarantees superior scan results without compromising ease of use and sets new standards for scan speed and detail level. The Cyrtina scanner digitizes the surface of a preparation at high speed and with an accuracy of 13.9 µm ± 1.0 µm. The accuracy is measured with a method that was developed by the Oratio team for an international standard for dental “Digitizing Quality”. ( Accuracy of dental digitizers ) Easy and quick object fixation followed by click on one button in the scanning software makes the scanner easy to use and requires a minimal amount of training. In combination with Cyrtina CAD21 software, the new D700 scanner brings unprecedented scan-to-completed-design time to the market for digital dentistry. The D700 is designed for the tough environment in dental labs and delivers unprecedented reliability. The D700 scanner scans all colors, meaning that laser and camera parameters are automatically adjusted to the material of the scanned object. The scanner employs a unique 2 cameras and 3-axis motion system, which results in unrivaled accuracy in object geometry acquisition. The 2 cameras with reduced angle enables the D700 to effectively scan impressions and deep inlays; areas where a single camera often will be blinded by the cavity. 2 cameras also improve general coverage and accuracy.
Production center Zwaag
With a worldwide modern production facility of Zwaag (NL) we offer quick turnaround times and exceptional quality.
Oratio’s production center in Zwaag-NL presently has about 15 production units.
These are based on standard machines of the CNC milling machine producer LANG (D-Hüttenberg).
Before these machines are used in a production center they are subjected to considerable re-engineering by Oratio to fulfill the specific requirements of the dental company.
At the moment about 500 units per day are produced in this production center.
With 130.000 produced units in 2008 and a production capacity of 380.000
units in 2009 Oratio became market leader in the Netherlands.
The exports to Italy, Spain and Portugal is about 15% of the production, the total production volume growth is around 10% per month.
Because of many years of experience and her broad knowledge about CAD/CAM-technology, Oratio is often active in a consulting role for other companies.
Software
CyrtinaCAD21
The CyrtinaCAD software is designed well and very user-friendly. Although an inexperienced person can handle the scanning, the greater the skill of the technician, the better the final product, especially for full contour restorations. Oratio has developed its software close to the way of thinking of the dental technician.
This way he uses his competence through the software. The software is designed to make the dental technician better and enable him to improve his skills. Manipulating the software is like manipulating the wax; the better you are, the better the restoration. Most labs hire college graduates to operate their scanners. Every prep is different. A good waxer can fudge and that same mentality is required when scanning. The use of CYRTINA will increase the productivity in the laboratory, because the technology will give a higher production and fast results. The Cyrtina®CAD software facilitates the CAD process because many operations are executed in the software background without interaction by the operator. The basis lies in pre-setting of parameters used in the construction, which can be adjusted to individual needs. Most standard operations such as determination of the insert direction by minimization of undercut volumes and the definition of the preparation line, are automatic. Also copings and bridgestructures, including connector areas are automatically constructed on the basis of design rules and set parameters .
The positions of the elements can be changed by the operator; however the software does not allow changes that fall short of predetermined minimum volumes. For anatomic modeling a library of tooth models is available. In case a scanned wax-up model is used, CyrtinaCAD will construct a “best match” to the model instead of using copycat methods that circumvent design rules.
Copings and crowns as well as eight-unit bridgestructures and implant suprastructures can be constructed and subsequently produced. A calculated veneerlayer results in a true color reproduction via proper selection of layer thickness and shade, taking account of available space and functional contact-relations with antagonists and neighboring elements.
Also the construction of individualized UNICORE abutments is possible. For this the model must be scanned with implant specific scanmarkers on analogs.
The construction data generated with CyrtinaCAD21 cannot directly be used for the production units of other manufacturers.
Wiljo de Ruiter, manager software, development at Oratio
Clever as a 3-click crown
As a software engineer at Oratio, I believe it is very important to take the end user into account. After all, the end user is the one who is going to use the software a lot.
But who is this end user? This end user is either a dental technician or an apprentice, someone who is very practically orientated, and most of them are not so computer minded. This means that dental technicians have varying experience with computers, and we must be able to write the software in such a way that every dental technician can operate the system. In other words the software must be easy to use, yet powerful enough for the more difficult tasks. That is why we came up with the 3Click Cyrtina Coping. The first click initiates a task that converts the point cloud, created by a 3D scanner from a gypsum cast, into a digital surface, taking into account both the automatic detection of the preparation line and the optimization of the insert direction of the final restoration. The second click starts a procedure that computes both the spacer and the coping, with the coping thickness depending on the element number.
The third click sends the restoration via e-mail to the nearest production center.
Cyrtina excels in simplicity, without ignoring the more complex issues. The Cyrtina CAD software is written to be as flexible as possible, accomplishing the most tasks in the least amount of clicks possible. After all, we use computers to make our work easier and more reliable. Every step however contains adjustable parameters, that are normally set to a default value predetermined by Oratio.
These parameters give the best results in most cases, but allow to be tweaked in cases that do not follow the normal rules. The insert direction is sometimes better determined manually in bridge cases where multiple dies are not aligned along a single parallel, to reduce undercuts at the preparation line. In some extreme cases the preparation line must be manually corrected, when the gypsum model is not ditched enough. The software also allows the copings to be build up to a more anatomical form. This can be accomplished in two ways: either by building up the coping directly or by dropping a preformed anatomical shape over the coping. In order to make this anatomical coping fit with it's surroundings, it will help if a point cloud of the neighbors and antagonist are included.
Writing software that is easy to use, means that it must handle a lot of issues normally performed by the dental technician. Determining the insert direction for instance, is something a dental technician performs in a flash, but a computer has to compute complex mathematical calculations to accomplish nearly the same thing. The preparation line is another thing the dental technician will see directly, but a computer does not have eyes. Although we know and see that this preparation line is one particular edge that goes around on the surface, writing software to find that particular line is something completely different. It took me several months to come up with the right mathematical approach for the computer to recognize that same line. This however heavily depends on finding the correct insert direction first. The insert direction on the other hand also depends on finding the correct
preparation line, because it is only determined by the surface above that line. This makes the initial extraction of the surface from the point cloud the most complex piece of software contained
in the CyrtinaCAD program.
Another aspect of writing software is making it reliable, efficient and rock steady. I think we have accomplished just that. And that is also what is great about Oratio, because we develop the software ourselves. Any bugs can be fixed fast, and new features are implemented on a regular basis. Customers can download bug fixes and software updates after release immediately with our CyrtinaUpdate software.
